Dear Member,

First and foremost, we hope you and your family are well during this difficult time.

Following on from the unprecedented measures taken by the government in mitigating  the risks of COVID 19 earlier in the week, we have had to make some difficult decisions in relation to the Clubhouse, Golf Course and not least the Staff. As  you are aware the Clubhouse and Course are now closed until further notice. All staff are now on the Government’s furlough scheme apart from 1 greenskeeper to provide care and maintenance throughout the on going situation.

We wish to reassure you that we have taken the necessary measures to maintain the club in as viable a financial position as possible, given that we have no foreseeable income. In doing so we have acted on the following:

  • Staff to be furloughed on Government scheme
  • VAT and PAYE to be deferred by HMRC
  • Rates to be credited by Moray Council
  • Applied for Moray Council Hospitality and Tourism Grant
  • Prioritised our Creditor List to manage our cash position
  • Canvas Scottish Golf to provide relief on affiliation fees.

The above measures will ensure that we have given ourselves the best chance of seeing this situation through, although much uncertainty still lies ahead. We will keep you informed of any further developments.

We would like to take this opportunity to thank the staff for their forbearance and understanding, along with your continued support and patience. Finally, I would also like to acknowledge the efforts of Trevor Mearns and Keith Rushton over the last week in helping to address the above measures.

Please resist the temptation to play golf as the club has a duty and responsibility to comply with Government measures. Hopefully it will not be too long before we get back to the game we all love.
